ProSocial vs Yoodli (2026): a coach who knows your week, or role-plays and call feedback

By Scott Edwards, Founder, ProSocial · Prices checked October 2026

Both let you rehearse a hard conversation out loud and get feedback on how you sounded. Yoodli adds feedback on your recorded video calls and a lower price. ProSocial adds programs that teach the skill and, with membership, a coach who prepares you for the real meeting and debriefs with you after the real conversation.

The short answer

Dale is ProSocial’s AI people-skills coach, so you can rehearse at 10 p.m. the night before the meeting, repeat the moment you keep getting talked over as many times as you need, and never wait for an appointment. With membership, Dale prepares you for the real meeting, rehearses it with you in a voice role-play, and debriefs with you afterward.

On price, Yoodli Pro is $11 a month billed monthly, or $8 a month billed annually ($96 a year), for up to 10 role-plays a week. Advanced is $28 a month billed monthly, or $20 a month billed annually, with unlimited role-plays. ProSocial is free to start. One program is $47 once and you keep it, and membership is $47 a month or $470 a year.

For getting talked over, the $47 way in is Speak With Authority or Powerful Introverts. Both include “Speaking Up in a Meeting,” the role-play shown on this page.

Pick Yoodli if you want feedback on your real Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet calls after they end, want to write your own role-plays from a prompt, or want the lower monthly price.

Pick ProSocial if getting talked over is a pattern and you want to fix it where it starts: when you speak up, how you name the risk, and how you hold your point when someone pushes back, with a coach who prepares you for the real meeting and debriefs with you after it.

The real difference is not the feature list

A single practice session feels similar in both. You pick the situation, talk out loud, the other side pushes back, and you get feedback on what you said and how you said it.

The difference is everything around that session. Yoodli is a practice tool with a strong add-on for your live calls. ProSocial is a coach. With membership, before the meeting, you tell Dale who will be there, what you need to say, and what you are worried about, and Dale gets you ready for your version of it. You rehearse the hardest moment in a voice role-play until it feels steady. After the real meeting, you debrief with Dale, and what happened becomes your next practice focus.

If you get talked over on video calls, Yoodli can join the call as a participant and give you feedback on it afterward. ProSocial does not join calls yet. It works on both sides of it. Before the call, you rehearse “Speaking Up in a Meeting,” which is itself a video call where the plan is about to move on without your concern, and you practice speaking early, naming the risk, and pairing it with a fix. After the call, with membership, Dale debriefs with you on whether you got your turn and what to practice next. The lessons in Speak With Authority and Powerful Introverts teach the moves first: claiming a turn, your opening words, and making your idea stick to your name.

Calendar and email are optional. Role-plays, drills, and programs work without connecting anything, which matters if your company manages your Google or Outlook account.

What Yoodli is genuinely better at

  • Feedback on your live calls. Yoodli can join your Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet call as a participant and give you coaching feedback after the call. ProSocial’s Zoom and Teams connections are coming soon.
  • Writing your own role-play. Yoodli’s Builder turns a prompt you write into a role-play, on free and paid plans. In ProSocial, you start from the closest of 171 library role-plays, and with membership, Dale sets it up with your situation.
  • Price. Billed monthly, Yoodli Pro is $11 and Advanced is $28, against ProSocial’s $47 membership. Billed annually, Yoodli is lower still, against $470 a year for ProSocial membership.

What ProSocial is genuinely better at

  • Teaching, not only practice. Speak With Authority, Vanessa Van Edwards’ assertiveness course, covers your opening words, voice, presence, meeting participation, and requests. Powerful Introverts covers claiming a turn, making your idea stick to your name, and asking for what you need. Both build on nearly two decades of Science of People research and teaching, and each is $47 once.
  • Coaching on your actual week. With membership, Dale helps you prepare for the meetings on your Google or Outlook calendar, then debriefs with you afterward. A progress review turns your recent activity into your next practice focus.
  • Knowing what to work on. The People Skills Index is a roughly 30-minute assessment of how you respond to realistic video situations across seven trainable social skills, blind spots included. Dale coaches you from your results.
  • Follow-through. Talk to Dale by text or live voice, on the web or in Telegram, and agree on a check-in before the meeting where you plan to speak up.
  • Your writing. Email Audit, free once you connect email, shows where you hedge or bury your point in emails you have sent. The Charisma Coach Chrome extension, which comes with High-Impact Communication or membership, scores Gmail drafts for warmth and competence and suggests rewrites.

Dale“You spoke before task assignments, which was the right moment. You named the risk, but the evidence came after Maria had already heard a “no.” Next time, lead with the launch-date impact, then ask for ten minutes to look at it.”

What worked
Raised the concern early and stayed calm when Maria pushed back.

Open with the evidence and its timing impact, then make one concrete ask.

From the ProSocial app: “Speaking Up in a Meeting,” one of 171 voice role-plays in the library. The persona line is who your counterpart plays, and the tags are the People Skills Index skills it is scored on. Next to it, programs (called Skill Packs in the app) that you can buy once for $47 or get with membership.

What you practice and how it’s scored

For getting talked over, start with “Speaking Up in a Meeting.” It is included in Speak With Authority and in Powerful Introverts, and with membership. It is scored on the People Skills Index skills it’s tagged with, then you debrief with Dale. See the example debrief on this page for what comes back after a run.

  • Scene: a video kickoff call. Maria, your team lead, has finished an optimistic launch plan and is about to assign work, but you see a material risk.
  • Goal: “Raise a dissenting view clearly enough that Maria pauses the rollout, considers your concern, and agrees to a concrete next step.”
  • Focus cues: “Speak early before the meeting moves into task assignments.” “Name the specific risk without attacking Maria’s leadership or enthusiasm.” “Pair the objection with evidence, timing impact, or a practical adjustment.”
  • Skills it is tagged with: Situational Radar, Strategic Clarity, and Emotional Regulation.

Your meeting will not be Maria’s launch plan. In Speak With Authority or Powerful Introverts ($47 once each), or with membership, Dale sets this role-play up with your situation: who usually talks over you, what you need to say, and what you are worried about.

Questions

How does ProSocial help if I get talked over on video calls?

Before the call, you rehearse “Speaking Up in a Meeting,” a video kickoff call where you raise a risk before work gets assigned, scored on Situational Radar, Strategic Clarity, and Emotional Regulation. Speak With Authority and Powerful Introverts teach you to claim a turn and make your idea stick to your name, and both include that role-play for $47 once. With membership, Dale also prepares you for the real meeting and debriefs with you afterward. Can I rehearse a performance review in ProSocial?

Yes, with membership. If you are the manager giving it, start from “Giving a Performance Review,” where you give balanced feedback to a strong but quiet direct report. If you are the one being reviewed and plan to make a case for a raise or a bigger role, start from “Negotiating a Raise or Promotion,” where you tie your results to your team’s needs with your supervisor. Either way, Dale sets it up with your situation and debriefs with you after the real conversation.

Can I try ProSocial for free?

Yes, and no card is needed. A free account includes your first realistic situation, which Dale presents, and Dale’s feedback on it; connecting your calendar and email for feedback, including Email Audit of emails you’ve sent; and two free programs, the Conversation Archetype Quiz and How to Calm Someone Down, which has two voice role-plays.
